A COMIC CON Kinda Day…..

It was a COMIC CON kind of day….

Mom and I, Miss Kayla decided to go to Comic Con this year to see what we see. We don’t actually go inside the Convention Center for it (where the main event is held), but we walk/stroll all around the Convention Center area outside where we are allowed as well as the Gaslamp area. Also a few blocks in each direction. We went two years ago and had so much fun, but since they don’t allow you to access some of the better areas for seeing people in costumes walk by we didn’t go last year because of all the changes, but after mom saw other peoples pictures she realized there was still a good amount of area we could stroll /walk through to see what we see in terms of people in costumes.  So mom really wanted to check it out again this year.

On Friday while I was at my day program, mom and her friend ventured out to see what they saw. She also wanted to check it out before her and I ventured down there. Here are some of mom’s photos:

We got up early the next morning. I was pretty excited because I got to dress up in my Vampirina costume.

not the best of photos, but it will do (with our phone)

Mom was a bit concerned because of the heat. Not the temps, but the humidity. Knowing it doesn’t affect me the way it affects her and most people, she felt a tad better about it, but was going to keep a close eye on me. I was on the cool side for most of the morning which I wore a little sweater over my arms. Mom puts my arms through the sleeves to wear backward because most of the time its too warm for me to wear it the right way around my back. My back gets too warm. However,  I actually wore it the “right” way for a short bit as I was quite chilly and its really thin. I didn’t want to wear a hat because of my costume so mom said, “ok”. We got down there about 8:30a.m. and found a great parking spot just a few blocks away.  Off we went to search for costumes.

There were quite a few people already down there but still pretty empty. We hung out in the Gaslamp area near the sign to see what we see.

We eventually made our way a few blocks down the street to get a photo of me with the water fountain / pool like area. The balloons weren’t as cool as two years ago but still unique to Comic Con.

While we were strolling we saw one of the Trolley’s decorated all out in Sponge Bob. Mom missed a photo of it and unfortunately, we never got a chance to see it again to capture a photo of it for me. However, I did get one of the Simpsons. Simpsons was the first show I watched not even a day old with my dad. My dad loved that show.

I also got a photo of me in front of the couch from Seinfeld. My dads second favorite show that I used to watch with him all the time.

We walked/strolled back down towards Gaslamp and then further down to the bridge to crossover the main street to the Convention Center area to walk/stroll all around over there.

We ended up walking/strolling all the way down the backside of the Convention Center and around the other side back out to the main street where we crossed and walked/strolled back down a few blocks to the Gaslamp area.

I got to get my photo taken with this couple. They were so nice.

By this time it was getting warm and mom thought it would be a good time to start heading back to the car when a friend of ours texted us and said he was on his way. So mom decided we will stay a little longer to walk/stroll around with our friend. That was around 11am. We ended up walking/strolling around Gaslamp area then down to the bridge to cross over and all around the backside and side of the Convention Center before making our way back over the bridge to head out to our car at around 1pm.  While we were on the backside of the Convention Center we saw this Dinosaur trying to get in.

It was warm for me by then and I was ready to go as well as mom. Here are some of the photos that mom took on our Comic Con day. 🙂

We walked/strolled 5.3 miles that morning according to moms phone. Mom and I can’t wait for next years’ Comic Con. Mom says this year I need to get myself a costume just for Comic Con – one that is cooler for hot weather as mom focuses on warmer ones for me for Halloween. You know what that means??? 🙂 I get to do more shopping. 🙂

Until next time….

Love,

Kayla
